ASUS Introduces Versatile Thin and Light VivoTab Tablet

PRESS RELEASE

ASUS, a global leader in the new digital era, today announces VivoTab™, a thin and light tablet featuring Windows 8. With an MSRP starting from US$799, VivoTab™ has an 11.6” multi-touch HD display, Wacom® digitizer stylus and Intel® Atom™ dual-core processor for an excellent combination of performance and energy efficiency. Its optional Mobile Dock offers increased productivity too, thanks to its full keyboard and a built-in battery that gives up to 19 hours’ mobile use.

Enhanced performance, incredible energy efficiency

ASUS VivoTab™ has a 1.8GHz Intel® Atom™ Z2760 dual-core processor with enhanced performance and incredible energy efficiency allowing Windows 8 to run both, the latest software and legacy applications, giving users a wide choice of software for every need. VivoTab™’s 11.6” multi-touch display has a pin-sharp 1366 x 768 HD resolution with vibrant colors, wide viewing angles and superior outdoor visibility, thanks to the amazing brightness of its Super IPS+ technology. ASUS TruVivid technology enhances image clarity still further by reducing the display thickness, while scratch-resistant Corning® Fit glass with anti-fingerprint coating keeps the screen crystal-clear.

Flexible control for intuitive use

Flexibility is key with ASUS VivoTab™, whatever the task in hand. Multi-touch gives full fingertip control with Windows Store apps, while the Wacom® digitizer stylus offers extreme precision with Desktop apps. When connected to its new Mobile Dock with streamlined “hidden hinge” design, VivoTab™ is instantly transformed into a notebook, complete with keyboard, large multi-touch touchpad and two USB 2.0 ports for unprecedented productivity. Better still, the Mobile Dock extends VivoTab™’s 10.5-hour battery life by up to nine hours, for an unbelievable 19 hours’ mobile use.

Powerful, practical and extremely portable

ASUS VivoTab™ is powerful and practical, but it’s also supremely portable. Its sleek metallic design is a mere 8.7mm thin and 675g light, and innovative Nano Molding technology ensures a tactile finish that’s as sturdy as it is stylish. Quad speakers with ASUS SonicMaster technology means VivoTab™ sounds as good as it looks too, while the 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus five-element lens and large f/2.2 aperture delivers best-in-class image capture.
