Self destructing phones are off the pages of comic books and spy novels, and finding their ways into our government agencies’ pockets. The new “Black” phone from Boeing will protect users by erasing all data and deactivating if the phone is tampered with. The Android phone, while shrouded in mystery and confidentiality, has been released, as confirmed by Boeing.
Available to government agencies and companies, the phones casing will be tamper proof, and any attempts to disassemble the unit will automatically trigger the data wipe. The screws and casing are covered in an epoxy that will identify any attempts to break in to the phone. Though most of the information about the phone is confidential, the company has filed with the FCC for the phone.
Boeing is working with the increasing security needs of government agencies and security customers to make data secure, and provide a secure device.
