Delivery drones on the rise in Dubai
While the FAA won’t allow beer delivery drones in our skies yet, the United Arab Emirates is beginning its own testing of a delivery drone system. But, instead of beer and online purchases, these drones will be used for official government services.
According to Reuters, the UAE plans to use these drones as an upgrade to its current services. In order to expedite official document delivery, the drones will carry small packages, with items like driver’s licenses and ID cards, to the recipients. In order to ensure the security of these unmanned drones, they will also be equipped with both fingerprint and eye-recognition security. The next six months of testing in Dubai will give more information about how these machines will be able to be integrated into daily life, along with any limitations due to weather and safety concerns.
