Le Pan II Finally Gets Android Ice Cream Sandwich Update

The Le Pan II will finally get a little makeover with the update from Android 3.2 Gingerbread to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Le Pan II update will start to roll out from “July 15”. Although the operating system and interface are not much different from Gingerbread version, users will see recent tabs once they press the home button.

Users will also benefit from the NFC feature using the Android Beam. This feature will allow users to share contents to other devices. Moreover, users will be delighted to see the following improvements;

  • Improved Battery life.
  • Wi-Fi connection speed was increased and stability has been perfected.
  • Improved processing performance.
  • RAM was adjusting automatically based on demanding of apps usage and also more free internal memory space.
  • Faster and smoother camera.
  • and many more goodies

The upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for the Le Pan II makes the device that much more attractive to buy while it trailed behind with all the ICS Tablets coming out lately.

However, the third generation of the Le Pan is speculated to be released for the holidays many of us expect it to be packed with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Le Pan/Matsunichi has not yet released a confirmation.

****UPDATE**** 7/17/2012

Its now July, 17 and we have not yet to seen the update, but inside sources tell us the initial image of the update had some last minute issues they need to work out. It seems that the update at the moment is bricking several of the Le Pan II units so they had to put a stop to the release. Good news is that the release is scheduled to be fixed and released by next week. I will keep you posted as more news becomes available.

The release is now available
