In addition to acquiring Motorola, Lenovo has acquired another asset for their smartphone business: Ashton Kutcher. While on the surface, this may sound like a publicity stunt, Kutcher has been working with Lenovo as a product engineer since October, and will be working to design a new line of special edition smartphones. Not only is presence in popular culture a benefit for the company, Kutcher’s experience as an engineer will also be a positive contribution for the line. His experience in the mobile industry, with apps like Uber and Foursquare, shows that he is focused on user experience and bringing consumers features that they are looking for. In the next year, the phones will begin to arrive, and Lenovo’s presence in the mobile market will grow.
