Scam Detector Inc., developer of the award-winning application Scam Detector, is announcing the launch of its Android version. Scam Detector is a free mobile and web-based app that exposes in detail over 550 of the world’s most fraudulent activities, in several industries.
The app educates consumers around the globe how these scams work and teaches them how to prevent financial fraud. Scam Detector has been accessed to date in 104 countries and recently won the 2011 Consumer Champion Awards, hosted annually by the Government of Alberta, Canada.
“Thousands of people from all over the world requested an Android version. We are now happy to make that available in Google Play Store. We will keep updating it with the newest scams on regular basis,” says Sorin Mihailovici, VP of Business Development for Scam Detector Inc.
All the scams in the free app are grouped into nine categories, according to their industry: auto, travel, employment, real estate, social networking, financial, online auctions, telephone, and face to face. Every scam in the app can be instantly shared on Facebook, Twitter, or by e-mail, while users can submit their own scams.
Scam Detector can also be found as an iPhone app in the AppStore, as well as a web-based app online at: www.scam-detector.com. A media kit with high quality screenshots is available at: www.scam-detector.com/newsroom.
