A little bit ago I reviewed a screen protector for the Le Pan Android tablet from PosR.us and I loved it, it works great and protects the tablet. I also have another Android tablet from Idolian called the TouchTab 10 and it has the same problem that the le Pan does and that’s a very glossy screen. The screen is like a mirror truly and I have a thing for having screen protectors on everything I own so I went to PosR.us to see if they had a screen protector. They don’t carry one for this specific tablet but they can make custom screen protectors for you.

If your screen is not listed, or you aren’t sure what model touch screen you have, it is a quick and easy procedure to measure your screen so you can determine the model of screen protector you will use. You will need to measure both the height and width of the touch screen (in millimeters if possible).

Be sure to only measure the viewable screen area. Do not measure the casing or frame surrounding the screen.

The Review::

As I mentioned I’ve got experience with PosR.us screen protectors and I’m very happy with them so I contacted the company about getting a custom one created.  The process involves measuring your device and getting a PDF file from them to figure out the size of the corners of your tablet. You just print it out to 100% scale and match the corner to your device.

To create your own protector you need to measure your device and get the corner size and for the TouchTab 10 I got:

The width is: 258mm
the height is:154mm
The corner radius according to the chart is:  1/2″

It took less than a week for a plastic envelope to arrive to me which contained the screen protectors which were in a cardboard folder to prevent them from bending.

Inside of the envelope I found the screen protectors, instructions, a cleaning cloth and card to help smooth out the bubbles.

Applying the protector was actually very easy, it only took two tries to get it lined up correctly. The hole for the camera is a little off, but that’s not their fault, it’s mine as I made the hole using a regular hole punch.

I included this picture here to sort of illustrate the lack of glare. Normally this would look like a mirror and you’d see the ceiling of my room in the tablet screen. Yes it’s bright because of the two lights I had close to the tablet to help with the lighting, but under normal conditions the screen protectors drastically reduces glare from overhead and natural lighting.

The screen protector fits almost perfectly, the corners are very slightly off but that’s not a big deal to me as I’d say over 99% of the tablet glass is covered for protection. The TouchTab 10 does have a very slightly raised border and I measured within that for my screen protector size. PosR.us did a great job creating this protector for me, from what I can tell they got the measurements exactly as I measured them.

Conclusion:

Overall I’d have to say that PosR.us did and excellent job at creating this custom screen protector. It works exactly as it should, it eliminates glare and helps protect the screen of your device.

It’s custom made so you’ll need to measure very accurately to get the correct size for your device.

Their customer service is very helpful and they even called a week later to make sure I got it and to make sure it fit my device ok.

If you have the Idolian TouchTab 10 then you know the screen is very glossy and it needs a screen protector so I can highly recommend you contacting PosR.us and getting one from them, you’ll be happy you did.

The screen protector custom made so they can make them for any device you own, just send them the info on your tablet and in less than a week you’ll have protection for your device.
