      Hi Patty,

We are not part of that company we are actually a news/reviews website. The actual manufacturer has shared with us the update and advised us it should help solve the issue caused by shipping. Seems like many of these units had a rough ride during shipping.

But we do have a non microsd version as well.

      Hi Jake,

We just tried it again using a Hotspot, we downloaded and flashed it and it works fine. We are not sure what could be happening on your computer.

I also want to make it very clear. We are not the manufacturer of the product. InsideIndustryNews.com is a review site and not affiliated with Le Pan, Haier, or any of their products. I understand, just frustrated. I finally was able to talk to a support representative and they admitted there was a problem with the OS that could cause some major problems. She advised me to return the tablet.

Thank you for your help. I apologize if my comments felt as if they were directed at anyone from this website. It was not my intent, but I could see where the frustration could make it seem that way. Again, I apologize if that is how it came across.

        Thanks.

    I have Android version 4.2.2, Kernel version 3.4.0+ liuwei@srv-fw-compile3 #277 Sun Oct 6 20:35:11 CST 2013, Build number HG-9041 20131006

Is the upgrade newer than the above, and if so, what is new in it?
I’m looking to upgrade to see if it will help with the internet. The internet is very slow with this tablet. My Galaxy S3 is much faster. Also, the HG-9041 has a problem with some apps that says “your device isn’t compatible with this version”.

    1. admin Reply

Not exactly sure, as we where not given much info from the Manufacturer. Sorry we dont have much info, but not much was given to us.

My issue: Tablet worked well for a couple of days. Then it started slowing down and freezing. When we attempted to turn it on, the home screen remained on displaying, HAIER in blue.

When I reported this problem, I was provided the following Haier HG-9041 Firmware Update by your company: http://insideindustrynews.com/hg-9041-firmware-update-instruction-2/.

The instructions were followed however I was unable to get past #11. When attempting to install update, the download icon did not illuminate and/or indicate it was ready to download the update. The Pad Product Tool indicated “0 USB Device Detected”. The Tablet continued to display HAIER in blue throughout process unless the volume key is depressed as instructed pursuant to the update. The present extent of the functions for my Tablet is it turns on when it is connected to the computer by a USB cable or the power adapter is being used.

It’s frustrating as the Tablet worked very well when it was operating properly. If there is anything else I can do at my level please advise ASAP! Thank you.

Sounds like you may have missed the step. the unit has to be completely off when you try to hold down the volume button. If anything call the manufacturer, we cant really help troubleshoot as we are not the manufacturer.
